This is the approved sketch for Kellie. I wanted to have her standing next to a pillar, not just for aesthetics, but also to symbolize that she is a pillar of strength for all the women she mentors. She also wanted a headpiece as a nod to her Persian culture.
I had to paint her without the headpiece first, then add it once this dried.”

Here I have added the headpiece and started on the dress. I decided to go with gold in the headpiece rather than pearls as the gold really pops against Kellie’s black hair. Kellie also wanted a wine colored dress to go with a chair in the room she is going to hang it in.
Almost there! I love how the bottom of her dress pools around her like spilled wine.
